2023: The 60th Year of MAPC

Looking Back, Continuing Forward

MAPC at 60

The year 2023 marked an incredible milestone for the Metropolitan Area Planning Council - we celebratedour 60th Anniversary!

Our anniversary celebration gave us a chance to reflect on MAPC's accomplishments over the past 60 years. And today, we want to share some of the great work we have done in 2023.

We are proud to share our 2023 Annual Report with you because it reflects our recent work, alongside the agency's long commitment to our region. To highlight just a few accomplishments you will read about in the report, we worked with many new communities to create Climate Action Plans, supported dozens of projects across the region with technical assistance, and are helping thousands of residents gain access to wi-fi through support from the Mass Broadband Institute. These are just some of the many projects we worked on last year.

As we look back on our achievements in 2023 and over the past 60 years, we are also continuing to look forward into 2024 and beyond. Our regional plan, MetroCommon 2050, charts a course for our future, and we are grateful to the many partners, stakeholders, planners, legislators, and municipal leaders that make our work possible.

We look forward to working with all of you to solve our region's most pressing challenges, next year, and far into the future.
